The aim of this Innovation and SME forum was to showcase to companies the open data resources and services that are available through ELIXIR Spain and ELIXIR Europe more generally. The programme featured a roundtable with Alfons Nonell-Canals (Mind the Byte), Alfonso Valencia, and Abel Ureta-Vidal (Eagle Genomics) Oscar Flores (Made of Genes), Josep Oriol Nicolas (Nostrum Discovery), and Liz Reynolds (General Bioinformatics) to discuss Open Data and Tools facilitating innovation.
There were also FlashTalks - sponsored by Biocat - where organisations presented their work around public bioinformatics. These included a talk by Irene Espelta about Mind the Byte products and services.
Additionally ELIXIR partners talked about some of the key databases and resources and presented examples of innovative companies that are already using public data in their businesses.
The meeting took place on the 6th and 7th of June 2017 at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).
