What kind of innovation models can be found on the Catalan pharmaceutical companies to optimize their R&D on new drugs? What trends are being followed? Are there success histories to be used as a model? What challenges are awaiting for the next coming future? A panel of experts will discuss and share experiences in the fourth edition of SciCloud (Scientific Cloud Conference), organized by Mind the Byte on March 30th at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB).

SciCoud is an annual meeting which aims to discuss about topics related with the field of Mind the Byte, a bioinformatics company specializing on computational drug discovery, big data and innovation on health sciences. Last edition brought together almost one hundred participants to discuss about health and big data. Previous topics were scientific cloud solutions and security and data protection on cloud environments.

The conference is intended for entrepreneurs, researchers, managers and other professionals related with R&D from both business and academia.

The openning session will be introduced by Alfons Nonell-Canals, CEO and founder of Mind the Byte and Jordi Quintana, Business developer at the Barcelona Science Park.

The speakers of this edition are Oriol Segarra, CEO at Uriach; Marc Ramis, CEO at Tech & Business Innovation; Marta Príncep, Technological department director at Bellavista; Clara Campàs, Strategic and Development department director at Kern Pharma; Isabel Amat, head of Biotech and Business development at Reig Jofre, and Andrés G. Fernández, Advanced Biotherapeutics director at Ferrer.

The closing ceremony will be introduced by the Secretary of Universities and Research of the Catalan Government, Arcadi Navarro; the director of Business Innovation at ACCIÓ (Government of Catalonia), Mariona Sanz, and the chairman of CataloniaBio, Ignasi Biosca.

This SciCloud will conclude with a glass of cava (Catalan champagne) to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Mind the Byte.
