From Mind the Byte’s team we are very happy to announce that we have been recently awarded with the Spanish Governmental Fellowship Torres Quevedo. This is a very specific and competitive concurrence-based fellowship aimed to incorporate doctorate employees in the company to perform excellent R&D projects.

The evaluated criteria to grant proposals are the curriculums from both the employee and the director of the project and also the scientific quality of the project. In our case, the beneficiary of that recognition is our Computational Chemist, Dr. Melchor Sánchez-Martínez, who holds a PhD in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry by University of Barcelona. And the director of the project is Mind the Byte’s CEO, Dr. Alfons Nonell-Canals, who holds a PhD in the same field by the Rovira i Virgili University.

The key point in Dr. Sanchez-Martínez’ project is the disruptive innovation regarding the modelling of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) that will be performed in our Mind the Byte’s facilities placed in Barcelona, Spain. The fellowship will cover the 70% of his salary for three years to perform his research. This new project goes in the same direction as all research in the company and it reinforces the strategic line. It will allow to invest more resources in intern research and enlarge fields of knowledge to work in.
