As formal definition, open innovation is a paradigm that assumes that firms can and should use external ideas as well as internal ideas, and internal and external paths to market, as the firms look to advance their technology.
In Mind the Byte, we have always believed in innovation like a best way to grow as a company. But, who says that all innovation must come from inside the company? With the Open Innovation model, a company can introduce ideas or products from other parties, at the same time that internal ideas keep in development.
Mind the Byte’s team really will to grow to offer to the costumers a better product/service portfolio. Considering that significant amount of excellent research is done in computational drug discovery nowadays, all around the world, Mind the Byte launches the Open Innovation Program.
It will be completely launched on November 2015 and it will be open to all people desiring of giving their software a market output.
All people, companies or groups of research will be welcome to contact with the Open Innovation Team, located in Barcelona by the time, through the application form available on the website. Proposals will be evaluated and accepted if they fit with the mission of the company and the software related technical requirements. During the evaluation, royalties for the party that gives its software will be discussed.
Mind the Byte maintains its commitment to Technology Transfer. No work performed at universities and centres of research will not have the chance to enter the market.
A positive return to the society is done then, because all work funded with public money find its way to the market and therefore generates richness. That is the big small contribution that can be done for our society.
